Covid-19Despite the Government lifting restrictions in England on 19 July - and with concerns surrounding the new Omicron variant - we have chosen to keep many of our covid protocols in place for the ongoing safety of customers and staff. For example, staff continue to wear masks; customers too are asked to - unless exempt or sitting (although this is no longer legally binding); we continue to operate table service only; tables generally remain spaced at 1 pm plus (with screens as necessary) and are limited to a specific number of people; hand sanitiser remains on each table and at key points around the premises; enhanced cleaning processes (including sanitising table and chairs after each customer) remains; we still take customer contact details for track and trace purposes.
All this means that we are currently still operating at around half of our normal capacity, so there are a limited number of tables available at any one time and therefore there has to be time limits for those tables at busy times like Friday and Saturday evenings ( i.e 2 hours for a table for 2 people and 2.5 hours for larger tables). Our slightly slimmed down menus also remain in place at this time to reduce pressure on the kitchen, which is having to operate under its own covid restrictions. Unfortunately, our weekend entertainment also continues to be suspended at this time ....Greek dancing does not really lend itself to social distancing!
We hope you understand, and indeed feel reassured, that you can come out and enjoy a meal with friends and family in as safe an environment as possible. If you have any concerns or questions please do just ask.
As part of our covid protocol we ask that bookings are made by email wherever possible. So, unless your booking is for today, please fill in the form below and we will get back to you within 24 hours. If we are unable to accomodate a specific time or date we will try to offer an alternative. If you have not heard from us within 48 hours please do check your spam/junk files and then call us and we will help you over the phone.
Still Nervous About Coming Into A Restaurant?
Why not think about coming at lunchtime - or even better in the afternoon - particularly on a weekday. These are quieter times in the restaurant and particularly good for people still apprehensive about going anywhere with people.
Whatever you decide, we look forward to welcoming you soon to El Greco
